The primary GBM cell lines used in this study were previously established from patient individual GBM tissue in our laboratory [16]. Specimen collection was conducted in accordance with the ethics guidelines for the use of human material, approved by the Ethics Committee of the University of Rostock (Reference number: A 2009/34). Cells were cultured in DMEM/Ham’s F12 (Biochrom, Berlin, Germany) supplemented with 10% FCS (PAN-Biotech, Aidenbach, Germany) and 2mM L-Glutamine (Biochrom) and cultivated at 37°C, 5% CO2 and 95% relative humidity.
