At the time of the MERS outbreak, 1800 hospital workers were on duty at Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong. Case of MERS was identified in the artificial kidney center and a total of 73 patients undergoing hemodialysis were quarantined in the hospital. These hospital workers and patients were eligible for inclusion in this study, which was approved by the Ethics Review Committee of the Medical Research Institute, Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong (IRB No. 2017-09-029).
