Supernatants collected from the NO experiments above were collected and assayed for inflammatory cytokines including interleukin-6 (IL-6), prostaglandin E2 (PGE₂) and tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα). Quantification of PGE₂ and TNFα were measured using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits based on the respective manufacturer protocols.
