Homeostatic model assessment of Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR)

HOMA-IR was calculated from fasting glucose and insulin concentrations with the standard formula: HOMA-IR= ((fasting glucose X fasting insulin)/22.5) [41]. Fasting insulin concentration in the serum was calculated by using ELISA kit (Crystal Chem. IL, USA).
