FTIR spectra (600–4000 cm−1) were acquired for solid samples of pure PVP K29-32, PHE, and their composites. Data were collected using a Vertex 70 FTIR spectrometer (Bruker, Germany) with a single reflection and germanium crystal ATR accessory (MIRacle, PIKE Technologies, USA) purged under dry air to remove atmospheric water vapor. Background spectra of 128 scans at a resolution of 2 cm−1 were subtracted from the sample spectra [50].
