Female BALB/c, nude, and C57BL/6J mice were purchased from Charles River Laboratories. Female NE Knock Out (KO) (#6112) and MMP9 KO (#7084) mice were purchased from The Jackson Laboratory. RapidCaP mice consisted of PtenloxP/loxP; Trp53loxP/loxP; TdTomatoloxP/+ transgenic mice into which a Luc-Cre lentiviral plasmid (Tyler Jacks, #2090, Addgene, purchased from The University of Iowa Viral Vector Core) was injected into the prostate, as previously described (24). All procedures were approved by the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory or University of California, Davis Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and were conducted in accordance with the NIH’s “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.”
