Body weight (g) was recorded prior to surgery and at 24 h for sham-, vehicle- and drug-treated groups. While a slight weight increase was observed in sham controls, experimental groups demonstrated weight loss after 24 h. Ischemia-induced weight loss was attenuated in drug-treated mice compared to vehicle group, although this was not significant (vehicle vs. drug-treated group: 5.30 ± 0.38 g vs. 4.58 ± 0.33 g).
