Neutralizing antibody and cytokine evaluation

Sera from the H7N9 patient were consecutively collected on 7, 15 and 18 d.a.o. for kinetic evaluations of the neutralizing antibodies and cytokine levels. A pandemic H1N1 severe case, onset on 2 February 2014, was used as a control, and the serum was collected on 15 d.a.o. The neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) were detected by Microneutralization Assays with A/Anhui/1/2013 (H7N9) and A/California/04/2009 (H1N1) viruses in MDCK cells, according to the previously described method⁴⁰. The levels of cytokines in the H7N9 patient’s serum were detected by the Bio-Plex Human Cytokine Panel (Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc.) according to the instructions.
