Circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy was carried out using a Jasco J-815 spectropolarimeter (Easton, MD, USA). PAM solutions (100 µM) were analyzed in 0.2 mm path-length cuvettes. Measurements were made at 0.5 nm intervals from 190 nm to 240 nm with 1 s intervals and 1 nm bandwidth. Data from five scans were averaged to create the CD spectra, and the secondary structures were quantified using the Provencher & Glockner Method [36].
