Rats were anesthetized with 4% chloral hydrate and stereotaxically implanted with a stainless steel guide cannula according to a procedure as described by Haley and McCormick [40]. Cannula inserted ventricular catheter coordinates were leftward 1.2 mm and 1 mm posterior to the bregma, 4.5 mm below the dura in the midline, then fixed catheter with dental cement. The 5th, 12th, 19th day after surgery, rats were injected lentivirus (15 ul, 0.5 ul/min, retaining needle 10 min to prevent reverse flow of liquid) through the ventricular catheter.
