Xenopus laevis oocytes were used to express cloned rat or human nAChR subtypes heterologously. Recordings were made 1–5 d postinjection. Oocytes were voltage-clamped at −70 mV at room temperature and exposed to acetylcholine, RgIA, or analogs as described previously (20).
