After seeded into 24‐well plates one day before transfection, MCF‐7 cells were transfected with Super 8 × TOP‐Flash/FOP‐Flash (100 ng) plasmid containing 1 ng of pRL using Lipofectamine 2000. Twenty‐four hours later, cells were treated with or without ATP. The activities of both firefly and Renilla luciferase reporters were examined using a Dual Luciferase Assay Kit (Promega) in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction. The transcriptional activity of TOP‐Flash reporter is presented as the relative ratio of firefly luciferase activity to Renilla luciferase activity.
