2.1. Fly stocks

Flies were maintained at 25°C on a standard medium with 60% to 80% relative humidity. W¹¹¹⁸ flies were used as a wild-type strain. d01340 was obtained from the Exelixis collection at Harvard Medical School. This transgenic insertion stock derived by transposable elements mobilization using the P-element construct, its insertion position is X chromosome (X:10,890,947..10,890,947). C155-Gal4 was obtained from the Bloomington Stock Center at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN). To remove possible modifiers and allow comparisons in a common genetic background, d01340 line was outcrossed into W¹¹¹⁸ background.
