2.4. Circular Dichroism (CD) spectroscopy experiments

Circular Dichroism spectra were recorded using a Jasco-810 spec-tropolarimeter (Jasco Inc., Easton, MD) equipped with a thermodynamically controlled cell holder. Samples were prepared in either 25 or 50 mM K⁺−containing K-phosphate buffer. CD measurements were taken through a quartz cell with an optical path length of 1 mm. The CD spectra were attained using three averaged scans between 230 and 330 nm at 25 °C. The baseline was corrected by subtracting signal contributions from buffers. T_m values were determined using CD melting experiments at 264 nm with a heating rate of 1 °C/min and 1 s response time between 20 and 95 °C.
