The human HCC SMMC-7721 cell line was obtained from the Type Culture Collection of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanghai, China), and cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (Invitrogen; Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc., Waltham, MA, USA), 100 µg/ml penicillin and 100 µg/ml streptomycin at 37°C in a humidified atmosphere with 5% CO2.
