A total of 30 paired tissues (RCC and adjacent normal tissues) were collected from Peking University Shenzhen Hospital (Guangdong, China). The adjacent normal tissues were extracted at 2 cm away from visible RCC lesions. Written informed consent was obtained from all patients. The collection and usage of the samples was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committees of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital. The tissues were immersed in RNAlater for over 30 min (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany) after being dissected, and then stored at −80°C. The tissues collected were reviewed and classified by hematoxylin and eosin staining. The clinical and pathological characteristics of the patients are presented in Table I.
