Statistics and reproducibility

Statistical analyses of enzyme activity assay, cell OD value, immunoblotting quantification and immunohistochemical quantifications were performed using ANOVA or Fisher’s exact test with GraphPad Prism software. For the mouse survival analyses, Kaplan–Meier plots were performed and statistical differences were evaluated using the log rank Mantel–Cox test. All data are shown as mean ± standard deviation (s.d.). n refers to biological replicates. A P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. No samples or animals were excluded from the analysis. No statistical method was used to predetermine sample size and experiments were not randomized, and we were not blinded to allocation during experiments and outcome assessment.
