Cells were cultured with 50 μg/ml dextran-Alexa Fluor 594 (Thermo Fisher Scientific, D22913) for 24 h and treated with or without starvation medium containing the same concentration of dextran-Alexa Fluor 594 for 1 h, followed by confocal microscopy imaging.
