Total mRNA was extracted from 1-dpf embryos with TRIzol according to the manufacturer's instructions. Real-time Q-PCR was performed on an ABI Prism 7700 Sequence Detector (Applied Biosystems Inc., Foster City, CA, USA), and the relative expressions of the genes for jak2a, gfi1.1, erythroid (gata1, β-embryonic hemoglobin), and heterophilic granulocyte (mpo) were examined. The analysis was performed with the 2- C (T) method as described previously 17.
