Chronic constriction injury of the sciatic nerve (CCI) has been widely described with minor differences in rodents51–53. Briefly, mice were first anesthetized with isoflurane, and a small incision was made at the mid-thigh level on the right side. Ligatures (7–0 surgical silk) were tied loosely around the sciatic nerve with approximately 0.5 mm between ligatures. And then, the skin was closed by a 5–0 silk suture.
