Interview transcripts were analysed using thematic analysis as outlined by Braun and Clark (2006). This involved identifying, analysing and categorizing a pattern of themes within and across interviews (Burnard et al., 2008). The data were analysed independently by two investigators (N.F. and S.H.) as they were collected, with attention paid to the lens through which the data were being viewed (N.F. had been a research assistant on the RCT and S.H. an investigator and delivered CBT within the RCT). Observations and discrepancies were discussed and consensus reached.
