The CBCL is a parent-rated measure of child functioning and behavior problems within the last six months. The measure contains 113 questions, scored on a 3-point Likert scale (0 = absent, 1 = occurs sometimes, 2 = occurs often). Scores load onto two higher order factors of internalizing (CBCL-Int) and externalizing (CBCL-Ext) symptoms. The measure has demonstrated sound psychometric properties and the CBCL-Int and CBCL-Ext subscales have shown accuracy in autistic youth [44].
