The acute inflammation was induced using the experimental model of carrageenan-induced paw edema [34]. Each rat was injected with 0.1 mL of 1% carrageenan suspension freshly prepared (Sigma- Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA) into the sub-plantar region of the right posterior paw.
