Total flavonoid content (TFC) was determined by the colorimetric method with aluminum chloride (Lachner, Neratovice, Czech Republic) according to the methodology previously described by Chia-Chi et al. [46] with slight modifications, using methanolic extracts. Absorbance samples were measured at a wavelength of 415 nm. The total flavonoid content was calculated from a calibration curve, and the result was expressed as quercetin equivalents (QE mg g−1 DW).
