Challenge of mice with SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant

Thirty days after the last immunization (as described above), K18-hACE2-Tg mice were intranasally (I.N.) challenged with SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant (10,000 PFU/mouse, 50 μl/mouse), and observed for survival and body weight changes for up to 14 days after the challenge36,38,43. Mice with 25% weight loss and significant clinical symptoms, or 30% weight loss, were humanely euthanized by cervical dislocation under anesthesia.
