HIV-seronegative PBMCs were incubated with various concentrations of antiretroviral compounds in 96-well plates for 72 h. Cell toxicity was then evaluated using the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) (DOJINDO Laboratories, Kumamoto, Japan) [35]. The absorbance was measured at 450 nm using a 96 well plate reader (AS ONE MPR-A100; AS ONE Corporation, Tokyo, Japan).
