Differential scanning calorimetric analysis was used to characterize the thermal behavior of the alginate, chitosan, Venlafaxine HCL, lyophilized plain nanoparticles, and 1: 1 physical mixture of the plain nanoparticles and drug, and lyophilized drug loaded samples. DSC thermograms were obtained using an automatic thermal analyzer system (TA-60 WS thermal analyzer, Shimadzu, Tokyo, Japan).
