qRT-PCR was carried out as previously reported [49]. Gene expression was normalized to GAPDH or HPRT. miRNA expression relative to U6 snRNA and cell numbers was assayed using All-in-One qPCR Mix (GeneCopoeia, Rockville, MD, USA). Error bars represent the standard deviation (SD), and the results are expressed as the mean ± SD. The primers are listed in supplementary material Table S1.
