The young adult CF1553 worms were transferred onto NGM agar plates with or without ellagic acid for two days and exposed to UV radiation of 254 nm at a dose of 1000 J/cm2. After being transferred onto new NGM agar plates for 12 h, the CF1553 worms were anesthetized with 50 mM sodium azide and put onto a glass slide covered with 5% agar. Photos were taken using a fluorescence microscope and the fluorescence intensity was determined using ImageJ software (at least 15 nematodes per group).
