Infants born between 1 September 1998 and 31 December 2016 with a gestational age (GA) of 22–28 weeks and who survived >12 hours were included in estimates of GBS disease incidence. Microbiology data were not available for infants who died <12 hours after birth. Risk of death or NDI was estimated in the subset of infants born between 1 September 1998 and 13 December 2014 with GA 22–26 weeks who had no major birth defects. Infants missing infection or birth defect information were excluded.
