Bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility tests were done as hospital routine by the clinical microbiology laboratory at our institution. Bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility tests were conducted using the VITEK-2 System (bioMérieux, La Balme les Grottes, France) in our hospital. Susceptibility data were retrieved from the semiannual documents and interpreted according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines each year. All inpatient isolates of Gram-negative bacteria isolates during 2012 and 2020 were included in the study. For patients with more than one episode of CRE isolates during admission, only the first isolate was included.
