The anti-cancer properties of extracts of plants were evaluated by MTT assay. HepG2 cells were grown on 96-well plates for this experiment. The malignant cells were given varying concentrations of the extract after an overnight incubation period. Then cells were incubated for 4 h at 37 °C with 20 μg/ml of MTT solution. Following this, media was aspirated with the addition of 100 µL of DMSO. Finally, using an ELISA plate reader (Thermo Scientific), absorbance was observed at 540 nm wavelength (Zara et al., 2022).
