Data regarding productive traits were analyzed using the General Lineal Model (GLM) procedure of SAS [31]. One-way ANOVA with significance level of P < 0.05 was used to test the effect of LA supplementation on performance parameters. Data, expressed as percentage, were transformed to arc-sin before the analysis to homogenize the variance. Data regarding carcass yield and incidence of meat abnormalities were analyzed using the chi square test. The results concerning the relative abundances of bacterial taxa and functional groups were compared through the White’s non-parametric t-test, using Statistical Analysis of Metagenomic profile Software v 2.0.9 (STAMP) [32].
