The acute toxicity test (LD50) was performed, as previously reported (Khalil et al., 2006). The test extract was administered at different doses (100 mg/kg–5,000 mg/kg) to different groups. Immediately after dosing, the animals were observed every 4 h for 4 days to determine mortality.
