RNA was isolated from cells with the Isolate II RNA Mini Kit (Bioline, BIO-52702). One microgram was converted to cDNA with qScript (Quanta, 95047), and 20 ng of cDNA (based on the original RNA concentration) was used for qPCR analysis in 10-μl reactions with SYBR Green (Bio-Rad, 1725124) (table S1). cDNA was diluted 1:500 to measure RNAPI transcripts. Expression was calculated relative to one or the geometric mean of the two housekeeping genes.
