Male and female Sprague Dawley rats (8 weeks old) weighing 226 ± 23 g were used for this study. Two groups each consisting of three males and three females were injected intravenously via tail vein with 1.5 mL of either rhA1AT or pdA1AT at a dose of 150 μ/kg. Blood was collected from each animal into heparin tubes at ten time points: right before injection, and at 5minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 6 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, and 120 hours post-injection for evaluation of A1AT abundance.
