SW620, HCT116, HeLa and U20S cells were obtained from the ATCC. HEC1 cells were a gift from Tyler Curiel. All cells were grown at 37°C in a humidified environment with 5% CO2. SW620, HeLa and U2OS cell lines were grown in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle medium (Corning® #15–017-CM) containing 10% FCS (Hyclone #82013–586), 250μg/L Amphotericin B (VWR #82026–728), 50 U/mL penicillin and 50 μg/mL streptomycin (ThermoFisher Scientific #15140122). HCT116 and HEC1 cells were grown in McCoy’s 5A medium with the same supplements. Cells were verified to be free of mycoplasma by frequent staining of plated cells with DAPI. No contamination was observed.
