DiI‐fluorescently labeled acetylated low‐density lipoprotein (DiI AcLDL; Thermo Fisher) was diluted in EBM2 medium at a concentration of 10 μg/ml and added to cultured cells for 4 h at 37°C in a humidified 5% CO2 incubator. Ac‐LDL uptake was analyzed by fluorescence microscopy and acquired with an inverted microscope Olympus IX53 (Center Valley, PA, USA). Alternatively, cells were stained with Diff Quick (Dade Behring, BioMap) and acquired with an inverted microscope Olympus IX53 (Center Valley, PA, USA).
