The in vitro experiments were carried out with 3 biological replicates. Data analyses were preformed using GraphPad Prism software (GraphPad Software Inc., La Jolla, CA, USA). Data are expressed as the mean ± standard error of the mean (SEM). For comparisons between 2 groups, the Student’s t-test was used; the correlation between C3 gene expression and cell types was examined using the Spearman’s rank correlation test. Statistical significance was set at P<0.05.
