Cells were seeded into a 6-well plate at a density of 1 × 103 to 1 × 104 cells per well and treated with tamoxifen or estrogen-free medium for 7–14 days after transfection or not. Then medium was removed and cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 min and stained with 0.5% crystal violet solution for 10 min. Images were obtained from a scanner.
