Cells were plated in 6-well or 12-well plate at densities of ~2 × 105 or 1 × 105 per well. 24 h later, cells were transfected with 40 nM siRNA using Lipofectamine® RNAiMAX Transfection Reagent (Life Technologies, USA) in complete medium. Medium was changed after 24 h and every other day thereafter until the end of the experiment. Non-targeting siRNA (5′-UUCUCCGAACGUGUCACGU-3′) was used as a nonsense control. The sequences of siRNAs targeting specific genes are listed in Table 3:
