To understand dimensional differences in vegetative and reproductive organs (traits associated with plant growth) of ungrafted field-grown adult plants from different ploidies, we measured 10 terminal branches per tree (n = 30), recording length, width, and the density of nodes and number of flowers. Furthermore, leaf area was evaluated in 10 fully expanded leaves per ploidy (n = 30) and weighted with a precision scale before and after dehydration at 60 °C, to calculate LMA (kg m−2). In the flowers, length and width of the tepals protecting the reproductive structures were measured at the anthesis stage in 10 flowers per ploidy (n = 30) using a calliper.
