This 17-item scale, administered at baseline and follow-up, assesses DSM-IV-TR symptoms of PTSD (25). The scale has solid test-retest reliability (R=.86) and internal consistency (r=0.99). At a score of 4, the DTS achieves an 83% diagnostic accuracy with the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders (SCID) (26, 27).
