[125I]IBETA is a new radiotracer for imaging Aβ plaques (Nguyen et al., 2022; Ono et al., 2013). [125I]IBETA and [124I]IBETA exhibited selective binding to both 5xFAD and human AD brain Aβ plaques and were displaced with known Aβ plaques binding agents, flotaza and TAZA (Kaur et al., 2021; Pan et al., 2016). The radiosynthesis of [125I]IBETA was performed using sodium [125I]iodide under electrophilic destannylation reaction conditions (Nguyen et al., 2022). The final formulation of [125I]IBETA was in alcohol. Radiochemical purity of [125I]IBETA was >95% with a measured molar activity >500 GBq/μmol (>13 Ci/μmol).
