Cochrane’s tools were used to assess the methodological quality. For randomized controlled trials (RCTs), the Risk of Bias 2.0 tool (RoB 2; Sterne et al., 2019) was applied. The risk of bias (RoB) of each study was assessed and classified as follows: high, low, or some concerns. For non-randomized controlled trials (non-RCTs), the Risk Of Bias In Non-randomized Studies of Interventions (ROBINS-I) tool (Sterne et al., 2016) was applied. The overall RoB was classified as follows: critical, serious, moderate, low, or no information. A third party was consulted to resolve any disagreement between investigators.
