Small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) for KLF5 and negative control were synthesized by Ribobio (Guangzhou, China) and used to transfect cells at 50 nM using the Lipofectamine RNAiMax reagent (Cat #: 13778150, Invitrogen) according to the manufacturer’s instruction. After 48 h, cells were collected for analyses, including the knockdown efficiency test by western blotting. The sequence of KLF5 siRNA was 5′-AAGCUCACCUGAGGACUCA-3′ [30].
