Human gastric epithelial cell line GES-1 and human gastric cancer cells SGC-7901 and MGC-803 were purchased from the Cell Bank of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and cultured in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle medium (DMEM) medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS; GIBCO) at 37 °C in a humidified chamber with 5% CO2. After 24 h, solanine (0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, or 20 μM) was added to the cells for 48 h. For the overexpression of AAMDC, cell transfection was performed prior to solanine administration, as described below.
