The R. pedestris strain originally collected from a soybean field (33.7° N, 117.0 °E) in Suzhou, China, was reared on soybean pods and soybean seeds for more than 20 generations. The P. apterus strain was originally collected from Xinjiang, China, and reared on clover seeds. Both strains were maintained at 26 ± 0.5 °C and 50 ± 5% relative humidity under a light/dark photoperiod of 16/8 h.
