An additional 10 ml of venous blood sample (collected by the Tissue Bank of FUSCC after the diagnosis and before the initiation of treatment) were kept frozen till DNA extraction for genotyping. According to the standard protocol, genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples. Genotyping was performed using iPLEX MassARRAY platform (Sequenom, Inc., San Diego, CA, USA) as reported previously (Chen et al., 2014). Five percent of the samples were randomly selected for repeated genotyping, and the results were 100% concordant.
