C57BL/6 Munc13-4jinx/jinx mice (hereafter referred to as Jinx; Crozat et al., 2007
) and their parental strain, C57BL/6 (wild type), were used. Mice (6–12 wk old) were maintained in a pathogen-free environment and had access to food and water ad libitum. All animal studies were performed in compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. All studies were conducted according to National Institutes of Health and institutional guidelines and with approval of the animal review board at Scripps Research Institute.
